Rugby Montana seeks to promote safety and fair play in all parts of rugby. As a part of this, all matches are refereed by USA Rugby certified referees. Rugby Montana works closely with the Montana Rugby Referee Society (MRRS) to ensure that player welfare and fair play win out, regardless of which team has the higher score. Because of the commitment to excellence, Montana referees have refereed at regional and national level rugby competitions.
